[on physical training for film roles] "I find it the most tedious waste of life. It's so boring. I'd prefer to be sitting in a pub with a few strangers talkin' shit than looking at meself in the mirror runnin' on the treadmill."

Colin Farrell ready to get his career back on track
Colin Farrell insists he’s changed his ways - after what he describes as a five-year ‘booze and women’ binge.
The 31-year-old ‘Daredevil’ star - who recently spent time in rehab - is set to get his career back on track by starring in three new movies.
The first film, Pride and Glory, a film also starring Ed Norton about police corruption, followed by In Bruges, a quirky comedy in which he stars with Brendan Gleeson about two hit men hiding out in Belgium.

SUNDANCE is teeming with Irish faces this year. Also making the scene last week was Colin Farrell, whose upcoming film In Bruges was selected to open the festival. “I didn’t really get the magnitude of it opening the first night,” said Farrell, making his first ever appearance at Sundance.
“Then I talked to a couple of people and they were like, ‘That’s really great!’ Then I was like, ‘You know what, f*** it, it is really great,’ and there does seem to be a really wonderful energy here.”

PARK CITY, Utah–Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson have obligingly interrupted their lunch to talk to the Star, in the midst of Sundance Film Festival hubbub.
Which is a very good thing, especially since the two Irish actors are dining in an establishment called Butcher's Chop House on historic Main St., a name entirely in keeping with the mob hit men they play in In Bruges, the well-received black comedy that opened Sundance Thursday night. (The film opens Feb. 8 in Toronto.)
COLIN FARRELL - FARRELL SWEARS ON LIVE TV JUST DAYS AFTER KEATON
COLIN FARRELL has become the second actor to swear live on U.S. TV within the space of three days when he accidentally let slip the word 'f**k' in a morning interview. Farrell was talking to CNN host Brooke Anderson at the Sundance Film Festival in Utah on Friday (18Jan08) when he forgot himself - just days after Diane Keaton did the same thing. When explaining why director Woody Allen let him keep his Irish accent while starring as a hitman in new London movie Cassandra's Dream, Farrell said, "F**k that, he's Irish!" Then, realising his use of foul language probably wouldn't sit well with young viewers across America, clumsy Farrell exclaimed, "Oh s**t!" On Tuesday (15Jan08), Keaton shocked broadcaster Diane Sawyer when she complimented the Good Morning America host's lips by saying, "I wish I had lips like that; then I wouldn't have to work on my f**king personality."
Dublin-born heart-throb Colin Farrell says he was pleased to get a few laughs in his first dark comedy, which opened the Sundance Film Festival this week.
"I'm not known for having a funny bone in my body," he told reporters the morning after the world premiere of award-winning playwright Martin McDonagh's In Bruges, about gangsters on vacation in Belgium.
"What's it like to do a comedy? It was nice to hear the laughter last night (at the premiere). It's lovely. I've never experienced such a tangible reaction like that before, so it's nice," he said.

Colin Farrell plays against type in new Woody Allen movie
For an actor of just 31, Colin Farrell has squeezed an awful lot of “bad boy” into his brief career.
Two-fisted movie roles in films such as “Intermission,” “Hart’s War,” “American Outlaws,” “Alexander” and “The New World” aren’t the half of it. A four-month long marriage, a much-publicized sex video sold by another woman, a stint in rehab - he has worn the “bad boy” label with a just a hint of Irish pride.

Colin helps fete 'Vie En Rose' star at pre-Globes announcement bash
It would take more than the cancellation of this year's Golden Globes gala to stop Hollywood enjoying the numerous pre-ceremony parties laid on in LA. And among those swept up in the awards buzz this week was Irish actor Colin Farrell, who was mingling at a swanky cocktail party in honour of French actress Marion Cotillard, who is nominated for her portrayal of chanteuse Edith Piaf.

The Irish release date for 'In Bruges', the new Martin McDonagh-directed film which stars Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson, has been announced.
The eagerly-awaited black crime comedy will open in Ireland on Friday 7 March.
The film, which also stars Ralph Fiennes and Ciarán Hinds, receives its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in the US on Thursday 17 January.
Having won the Oscar for Best Short Film for 'Six Shooter', playwright McDonagh makes his feature debut with 'In Bruges', for which he also wrote the script.
It tells the story of two hitmen, Ray and Ken (Farrell and Gleeson), who are forced by their boss Harry (Fiennes) to take a holiday in Bruges after they mess up an assignment. Once in the Belgian city, their plans begin to unravel.
Woody Allen’s “Cassandra’s Dream” Poster with Colin Farrell
This poster confuses me. If it is Cassandra’s Dream, then where is Cassandra? Or is Cassandra dreaming about 2 handsome men? Does this make the entire film a dream?
We are given this tagline as insight on the film:
“Family is Family. Blood is Blood.”
Thanks Woody for clearing that up for me.
Synopsis:
The tale of two brothers (Ewan McGregor and Colin Farrell) with serious financial woes. When a third party proposes they turn to crime, things go bad and the two become enemies.
Colin Farrell has revealed that he hopes his son, who suffers from Angelman Syndrome, will one day enter the Special Olympics and compete for his home country of Ireland.
The Alexander actor confirmed this week that four-year-old James suffers from the condition, which affects his motor and speech skills.
Farrell has been supporting the event and recently flew to Shanghai to cheer for the the Irish team.
He has hopes of his son entering the games, saying: "I was gifted with a son who in years to come could be competing for Ireland, who knows?
"If he does, he does, if he doesn't, f**king great. Whatever he wants to do with his life is the most important thing."
